Vallejo Police Department Investigates March 1, 2024 Fatal Traffic Collision

 VALLEJO, CA - On March 1, 2024, at 8:56 P.M., the Vallejo Police Department received a call of a man lying on the street in the 3200 block of Sonoma Blvd.

On arrival, patrol officers found an unresponsive 37-year-old Vallejo resident who appeared to have been struck by an unknown vehicle, which fled the scene. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries. The initial investigation revealed that the suspect vehicle was traveling eastbound on Valle Vista when it struck the pedestrian in or near the crosswalk.

Officers will examine vehicle debris left at the scene and video recordings in the area for suspect and suspect vehicle descriptions.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.

This is the first fatal traffic collision in Vallejo for 2024.
