VALLEJO, CA - On March 15, 2024, at approximately 11:58 A.M., the Vallejo Police Department responded to a call for service regarding an assault with a deadly weapon near the intersection of Lemon Street and Derr Street.

Officers arrived at the scene and located the victim of the assault.

Patrol officers tended to the victim and initiated an investigation. Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital due to his life-threatening injuries.

The Vallejo Police Department Detective Division responded and took over this investigation. The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident are currently under investigation.

On March 26, 2024, around 5:00 A.M., the Solano County Coroner's Office notified VPD that the victim subsequently succumbed to his injuries.

The male's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Solano County Coroner's Office.
