Shane Bower, Lieutenant, Vallejo Police Department
I am a lifelong resident of the Bay Area. My career in Law Enforcement began in 1996 as a Reserve Officer for the City of Walnut Creek. In 1997 I became a Deputy Sheriff for Contra Costa County. I lateralled to the Vallejo Police Department in 1999. I have worked in Patrol, Crime Suppression, Traffic, Internal Affairs, and currently I am the Professional Standards Division Commander. My ancillary duties have been Firearms Instructor, Recruiter, Hostage Negotiator (2 years as team commander), and Field Training Officer. My current ancillary duties are SWAT Commander, Rangemaster, and Peer Support. I served 21 years in the Army Reserve primarily in Psychological Operations and Military Police. I am a combat veteran of the Iraq War. I am a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute and Diablo Valley College.
