The Vallejo Police Departments Crime Dashboard is used to view Vallejo crime data for specified periods. It is available to the general public and users are given the capability to apply filters and compare all Part I crimes. The data provided is based on the number of incidents and does not reflect the number of victims. Reporting requirements and definitions for Part I offenses are outlined by the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program and include homicide, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny, motor vehicle theft and arson.
The UCR Program requires application of the Hierarchy Rule if a single incident has multiple offenses. In such cases, only the highest offense is represented in the dataset. For example, if an incident includes a homicide and a robbery, only the homicide will be represented. Incidents that are unfounded or unsubstantiated have also been excluded from the dataset.
Disclaimer: Due to the 24-7 nature of policing, incident-specific reporting, and the near-live nature of the data, the data shifts daily. As a result of modifications and additional information that is provided by police personnel and the public, changes to incidents occur, as do the summaries of data seen here.
