Vallejo Police Department Investigates February 28, 2024 Fatal Shooting ***Update***
VALLEJO, CA- On February 28, 2024, at approximately 7:08 P.M., the Vallejo Police Department (VPD) responded to a call for service concerning a shooting near the intersection of Alabama Street and Butte Street.
Upon arrival, officers found an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound and provided medical aid until medical personnel arrived. Unfortunately, the male victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Vallejo Police Department's Detective Division arrived at the scene and took over this investigation. The detectives collected evidence from the scene, interviewed witnesses, and detained the involved responsible party. This case was then presented to the Solano County District Attorney's Office. The Solano County District Attorney's Office reviewed the evidence and deemed this shooting to be in self defense and did not file formal charges against the victim.
