VALLEJO, CA - On May 5, 2024, at approximately 7:30 P.M., the Vallejo Police Department (VPD) received a call for service regarding a shooting in the 1300 block of North Camino Alto. 

When VPD Patrol officers arrived at the scene, witnesses told the officers that a family member transported the victim to a local hospital. The officers responded to the hospital and were informed by staff members that the male victim had suffered at least one gunshot wound, and was being medically treated.

Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the male succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The Vallejo Police Department Detective Division took over the investigation at the scene. The motive and circumstances surrounding this shooting are currently under investigation.

The victim's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Solano County Coroner's Office.
