
VALLEJO, CA - On May 18, 2024, at approximately

11:04 P.M., the Vallejo Police Department's Patrol Division responded to a report of a shooting on the 2900 block of Redwood Parkway.
Upon arrival, patrol officers located an adult male and female, each suffering from at least one gunshot wound. They provided both victims with medical aid until medical personnel arrived. When medical personnel arrived, they pronounced the female victim deceased at the scene.
Emergency medical services transported the male victim to a local hospital for a non-life-threatening injury.
The Vallejo Police Department's Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and took over the investigation. The investigation identified Juwan Nathaniel Chandler, a 22-year-old Vallejo resident, as the responsible suspect in this homicide.
On June 4, 2024, the Vallejo Police Department's Detective Division presented the evidence in this case to the Solano County District Attorney's Office. The Solano County District Attorney’s Office filed murder charges against Chandler and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On June 5, 2024, the Vallejo Police Department's Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and Hostage Negotiation Team (HNT) conducted an operation on the 2900 block of Redwood Parkway and apprehended Chandler without incident.
