Herman Robinson, Lieutenant, VPD
Lieutenant Herman Robinson was born and raised in the City of Vallejo and attended Vallejo schools prior to pursuing higher education at the University of California at Berkeley.
Lieutenant Robinson served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era and graduated from Drill Sergeant school at Fort Polk, LA in 1971. Lieutenant Robinson also served in the United States Army Reserve and the California Army National Guard for 14 years where he rose to the rank of Sergeant First Class.
Lieutenant Robinson began his career in law enforcement with the Berkeley Police Department and transferred to the Vallejo Police Department, working as a Youth Services Officer, North Vallejo Community substation commander, Community Services Section Commander, and most recently a Patrol Division Watch Commander. Lieutenant Robinson followed in the footsteps of his father, Alfred Robinson #176, who was a police officer with the Vallejo Police Department.
