

VALLEJO, CA - On May 19, 2024, at approximately 7:50 PM, the Vallejo Police Department received a call about an injury collision involving two vehicles on Curtola Parkway west of Lemon Street.
Upon arrival, officers observed assisting motorists performing CPR on the driver of a 2003 Nissan 350Z. Patrol officers took over and provided the adult male victim with medical aid until Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The initial investigation revealed that the 2003 Nissan 350Z was traveling eastbound on Curtola Parkway. The Nissan struck the raised center median curb, which separates the eastbound and westbound lanes of traffic. The Nissan continued over the raised center median as the driver lost control and drove eastbound in the westbound lanes of traffic. The Nissan ultimately collided with a 2018 Honda CRV, which appeared to be traveling westbound on Curtola Parkway.
There were two occupants in the Nissan and one occupant in the Honda. The adult female passenger in the Nissan was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The adult male driver of the Honda was also transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Solano County Sheriff Coroner's Office.
The Vallejo Police Department Traffic Division is investigating the circumstances and factors of the collision.
Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors at this time.
This is the second traffic fatality in the City of Vallejo in 2024.
