Carmen Vance
Carmen Marie Vance, a retired Deputy Probation Officer of the County of Marin, Probation
Department, has been a Vallejo resident all her life. She attended Vallejo public schools,
graduating from Vallejo High School. She also raised her two (2) sons in Vallejo who also
attended Vallejo public schools and graduated from Vallejo High School.
Carmen Marie earned her Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice Administration Management,
with a minor in Sociology. And a Master in Business Administration from the University of
Phoenix.
Before retiring from the County of Marin, Probation Department, Carmen Marie worked in San
Rafael for 29 ½ years, 10 years with the District Attorney’s Office, before transferring to the
Probation Department for 19 ½ years. After transferring to the Probation Department, she
worked as a Juvenile Correction Officer, before being promoted to Deputy Probation Officer.
Carmen Marie is an active member in organizations such as Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
Incorporated, Kappa Beta Omega Chapter, Vallejo; a Juvenile Justice Commissioner for Solano
County Superior Court; and a member of Second Baptist Church, where her grandmother was
one of the original members when it was located on Branciforte Street. She is also a previous
Commissioner for the City of Vallejo, Housing and Community Development Commission.
Carmen Marie is a proud citizen of Vallejo and is excited to be serving as a Chief Advisory
Board member for the Chief of Vallejo Police Department.
